You don’t believe you can

Your pursuit of something is only as strong as the belief that you will actually achieve what you’re after. I discussed in my last post HERE about the compounding relationship between interest and love. In line with this thinking, if you don’t believe you’re going to hit your goal, how are you actually going to get there and stay interested in doing it?

You want to know a quick way to derail your progress? You don’t really believe that it’s going to happen. Maybe you’re trying to lose weight because you joined a challenge that promised you a reward or maybe you’re being forced to because of a health issue, but the question still remains of do you REALLY want it? So you’ve started on a weight loss journey and a month roles by and you’ve lost the drive, dare I say interest, in completing the endeavor. Why did this happen? Because you didn’t believe it was in you to lose the weight, make the necessary lifestyle changes, and be consistent with physical activity, which are all related to the belief that you can do something.

I’ve seen this scenario too many times, even when health is at stake and it never ceases to amaze me. When is enough going to be enough? If you want to get in shape, if you want to get healthy, if you want to lose weight, it all starts with you. It’s no ones fault but your own that you are where you are and now its your responsibility to get yourself out of it by believing you can accomplish the goals you have set forth on yourself. Don’t do it for your friends, or for money, just do it for you.
